How does it work?
When you are using any administration interface of a tool that supports patExtras
there will be an additional entry in the main navigation called extras.
By clicking on this entry you will activate patExtras where you'll find further help
of the functionality it provides. The best is that patExtras is clearly seperated from
the tool you are using, which means that you only have to install or update patExtras
once and use it with all tools that support patExtras.
To communicate with the php-tools.net website we are using XML-RPC technology, which means
that you will need PHP4 with XML support and the server you run our tools on should be
connected to the internet.
Should I download patExtras?
If you just downloaded any of the projects that support patExtras you need not
worry about downloading patExtras, as the current version of patExtras is already
included in the distributions of our tools.
We put patExtras available for download because it's possible that you update to a
newer version of patExtras without updating the project itself. We go even further:
patExtras is able to tell you wether you should update or not. Just click on the check for update
entry in the patExtras navigation to see wether a new version of patExtras is available...
